Pichhwai-inspired Krishna garden

The story behind Vrindavan

Vrindavan takes its look from Pichhwai, the painted cloth hangings made in Nathdwara in Rajasthan to hang behind the idol of Shrinathji, the child form of Krishna. Pichhwai artists paint the seasons of Krishna's life in Braj: lotus ponds in summer, cows and gopis, and the kadamba tree under which Krishna played his flute. Their lotus ponds, drawn row upon row, are among the most recognised patterns in Indian art.

The cover keeps it simple and calm. A deep indigo night sky fills the screen, kadamba branches with their round orange flowers hang from the top corners, and a pond of pink lotuses rises from the bottom. Your names sit in the open middle in a soft pink script, like moonlight on the water.

Krishna and Radha's love is a theme many families want at a wedding, especially in Braj, Mathura and Vrindavan, among Pushtimarg (Vallabh) followers in Rajasthan and Gujarat, and among ISKCON and Krishna-devotee families everywhere. It also suits couples who simply want something elegant and not loud: there are no crowds or mandaps on the cover, only flowers and night.

Every function has its own page, so you can add a mehendi, a sangeet with a raas or garba night, the pheras and a reception. It suits a winter evening wedding, a Phalgun wedding near Holi, or a February date.

Guests who open the link see your names in the lotus garden, a countdown, your song, a voice message from your parents if you add one, Google Maps for each venue, a photo gallery and RSVP. You can also add a line of a bhajan or a Radha-Krishna shloka at the top.
