Rajasthani haveli illustration
Haveli Darwaza is built around a moment every Marwari family knows: the doors of the family haveli opening for a wedding. The cover is painted as a pink sandstone courtyard with carved jharokha balconies, marigold torans hanging from every arch and a long indigo carpet printed with buti motifs leading to the mandap. Guests in pink, saffron and turquoise safas line the aisle, the way the courtyard fills on the day of the pheras.
Havelis in Shekhawati, Jodhpur and Bikaner were built by trading families around open courtyards, and for generations the wedding happened right there, at home. That is why this design feels personal rather than grand. It is less about a palace and more about your own aangan dressed up for the biggest day of the family.
The inner pages use an arched mehrab frame with a pair of peacocks, marigold and rose garlands, mirror-work dots in the border and a row of diyas at the foot, so long text such as a Ganesh vandana, the list of family names or a full programme sits on a calm background and stays easy to read.
It suits Rajasthani and Marwari families, and equally any North Indian family that wants warm colours and a traditional feel without heavy gold. Because every function gets its own page, it works well for a full Marwari programme: Vinayak puja, ban and pithi, mehendi, mayra, nikasi, pheras and the reception, each with its own time, venue and map.
When guests open the link on WhatsApp they first see your names written over the courtyard, then a short voice note from your parents if you add one, a live countdown, the function pages, Google Maps buttons for each venue and a simple RSVP form. Elders can read everything in Hindi if you choose it.
